When I got home I set everything for my home network and got my 3 main systems all talking in no time at all. Then for kicks I downloaded Super Pi; its a Pi calculating program that is good for benchmarking. My XPS 420 (hehe 420) took the 32M 24 iterations level of Super Pi in 21 minutes 43 seconds. The Mini 9 finished the calculation of Pi to the 32millionth decimal point in 1 hour 37 minutes 2 seconds. Not terrible.
Anyway, I decided to pop in my Kingston 8 GB microSDHC card into the SD adapter and shove it in the SD reader. It locked in the slot VERY snugly and sits flush with the edge. I put on the card Transformers the movie (I'll put Ironman on it in a second here). Transformers is playing SUPER SMOOTH in Winamp! The file size is only 700 MB but its an AVI. Ironman (at 700MB) plays well too! As soon as I get the USB cd/dvd writer in I'll play a DVD movie.
As for my preference I chose the new Halo 3: Recon wallpaper, which you can get here

Anyway. All in all, the Dell Mini 9 is, in my opinion an excellent computer, device and gadget. While there are many other competitors such as Asus Eee PC, Acer Aspire One, MSI Winds and HP 2133 I chose the Dell Mini 9 (Inspiron 910) because 1) I'm a Dell fan, 2) because it's one of the only ones that come with XP and 3) its got an SSD. Some other the others also have traditional HDD's but I really like supporting the SSD technology. The HP has Vista (I like Vista - It's on my XPS) and the others use Linux.
Edit: Most of the other systems at this point come with Windows XP Home ULCPC.
Initially I give it 4.8 stars. But we will see how I feel about that in a few months!
