I like my Kimber 10mm but I haven't shot it enough to see if the reliability will improve. I could send it off to someone that could make it better. Thinking it over, I like what the 1911 has to offer from a footprint perspective but I want improved reliability without having to do custom work. I can't think of anyone that makes a pistol as thin as a 1911 in 10mm that isn't a 1911.
The idea would be for Glock to make a model 48 MOS but in 10mm. Not an SF version of the G20 but a straight single stack or slim stack. Sure SIG has the P220 but its still chunky in the grip. I really appreciate how the 1911 carries and feels and a modern sidearm in a solid outdoors capable caliber would be really nice.
Especially if I could add a red dot.
My reasoning has to do with the caliber. 10mm appears to be a suitable hunting pistol caliber and having something that I can carry IWB during deer season appeals to be. That would give me something that I can be out on the farm with and should a deer make itself available, I can pull my 10mm and harvest that animal.
Thin and easy to carry but powerful enough to take a deer that's got modern reliability and a red dot.
Update JAN 2024: Oddly enough, Tisas of all the manufacturers has close to what I want. They have an optics ready 1911 in 10mm that isn't hideously expensive. The Night Stalker SF 10 might be the answer to what I want. While it's still a 1911, if it runs fine, then it's a winner.
