Do you remember the .30 Super Carry? It was supposed to be an alternative cartridge that could replace 9mm in many 9mm firearms and add capacity to the magazine. It's a great idea but I don't replacing 9mm as an industry standard any time soon. I like the idea of having an extra 2 rounds in my carry gun though.
What I was sort of hoping for was a replacement for .380 ACP. The little .380 lacks a higher pressure standard that would help drive the bullets. I know ammo manufacturers have figured out how to make suitable hollow points but I liked the idea of having a small pistol like the Bodyguard 380 but in a more powerful caliber. I think that the .30 Super Carry could be that cartridge.
What I would like to see is Smith and Wesson make a little something as narrow as the Bodyguard 380 with a little longer barrel and a magazine capacity around 7. It would be an incredibly slim carry gun with some good power.
